Whizz-Bang is a woven painting that evokes fluidity and energetic movement, utilising a weaving technique that creates a painterly quality within the otherwise rigid structure of the woven textile. Light and airy, the piece recalls the transparency of a watercolour painting. Paired with a companion work by Diljá Þorvaldsdóttir, the two artists developed a shared theme, each creating an independent textile work using distinct materials and techniques. Together, the works offer a reflection on the environmental fragility of our marine world.
